Here is the staircase at the front of the museum. The rails include conveyor belt rollers from old factories in St. Louis. The Museum had local school children paint them, so they are all different designs. And, you are encouraged to spin them as you walk up the stairs!


The first (and most of the second) floor of the Museum is basically a big climbing/exploring area for kids of all ages. This turtle was part of that structure, which is made entirely of pieces of St. Louis--things from businesses, buildings, universities, and materials native to the area. (Unfortunately, there were no penguins involved in the design.)
